Water Treatment Services for Your Home

We handle four kinds of work: water testing, water softeners, whole-home filtration and reverse osmosis for drinking water. Our partner plumbers do the installs, and install is included with water treatment systems. Every install carries a 5-year warranty on installation and labor, and the equipment valves are covered for five years as well. Your test results decide which of these you need, if any.

    Whole-Home Filtration

A point-of-entry carbon system on your main line that takes chlorine taste and odor out of every faucet, shower and appliance, planned around the plumbing you already have.

  • Blue water softener mineral tank with black control head beside a black brine tank full of salt, next to a water heater in a garage, with salt bags stacked nearby

    Water Softeners

Ion-exchange softeners sized from your measured hardness and daily use, plumbed with a bypass valve and a proper drain connection.

  • Reverse Osmosis

An under-sink reverse osmosis system for drinking and cooking water, planned around the valves, drain and cabinet you actually have.

  • Water Testing

We measure hardness, chlorine, dissolved solids and pH at your tap and check your pipes, so any system we suggest fits the water you actually have.

A Water Treatment Company That Reads the Plumbing First

We focus on water softeners, filtration and reverse osmosis for residential customers, and we spend a lot of our time in houses that have been through a few owners. That means old softeners left in place, valves nobody has turned in years and repairs done with whatever pipe was handy at the time.

Our approach is simple. Test the water, look at the pipes, then explain the cause of the problem and what each fix would involve. If your water and plumbing do not call for a system, we tell you that too.

What Shapes the Price of a System

Two houses on the same street can land at different prices for the same softener. The difference usually sits in the plumbing, not the equipment. When you call, we give you installed system pricing once we know what your home needs.

Your price comes after the free water test and a look at your plumbing, with each part of the job named so you can see what you are paying for. There is no obligation to go ahead.

Type and size of system
A softener is sized by grain capacity and flow rate, a whole-home filter by media volume and the number of bathrooms it serves. Larger houses and harder water call for bigger tanks.
Existing loop or new piping
Tying into an existing softener loop is straightforward. Running new supply lines from the main to the garage or utility area adds pipe, fittings and time.
Pipe material and condition
Old galvanized or brittle fittings near the tie-in point sometimes need to be replaced so the new connection holds. We show you what we find before any extra work is added.
Removing old equipment
Pulling out a dead softener, emptying its brine tank and capping its old drain is part of some jobs and not others.
Drain, power and space
A softener needs a drain for regeneration water with a proper air gap, plus an outlet for the control valve. An under-sink reverse osmosis unit needs cabinet room for its storage tank and a spot for the faucet.

Why Older Houses Need a Closer Look

A softener or filter is only as good as the plumbing it ties into. In houses with a few decades behind them, that plumbing often holds surprises, so we check before we quote.

We trace past repairs first
Many older houses have a patchwork of copper, galvanized steel and newer PEX from repairs made over the years. We note where materials change, because a copper-to-galvanized joint without a dielectric union corrodes fast once water chemistry changes.
We check for a softener loop
Newer builds often have a pre-plumbed loop in the garage. Many older ones do not, or have a loop capped off years ago. We tell you which you have, since adding one changes the scope of the job.
Old equipment gets an honest answer
If an existing softener has a seized bypass valve or a failing control head, we say whether a repair part makes sense or the unit has reached the end of its life. You decide, with the reasons in front of you.
Galvanized lines get flagged
Corroded galvanized pipe sheds rust and narrows inside as scale builds up. A filter downstream will load up quickly, so we point this out before you buy equipment that would be fighting the pipes.
Your test drives the recommendation
We size a softener by measured hardness and your household's water use, not by the biggest unit on the truck. If a cheaper fix covers the problem, that is what we suggest.

From First Call to Treated Water

Plan on a morning or an afternoon for a typical install. These are the five steps between picking up the phone and filling a glass.

  1. 1

You call and describe the problem

Spotty dishes, white crust on fixtures, a chlorine smell or an old softener that stopped working. We set a time for your free water test.

  2. 2

    We test and inspect

We measure hardness and other basics at a tap, then look at your main line, any existing loop, pipe materials and where a drain and outlet are available.

  3. 3

You get options and installed pricing

We explain what the numbers mean and which system fits, including when the answer is a smaller unit or none at all. You get the full installed price before anything is scheduled.

  4. 4

    Our partner plumbers install

They shut off the water, make the tie-ins, set bypass valves so you can isolate the system later, and connect the drain line with an air gap. Floors are covered and old parts are hauled away.

  5. 5

    Startup and walkthrough

We program the control valve for your hardness and household size, run a regeneration or flush, retest the water and show you how to add salt or change filters.

Questions People Ask Us

Is a water softener really necessary?

Not in every home. West Valley water is usually hard, but the level differs from house to house, and so does how much it bothers people. The free water test gives us an actual number, and we base our advice on it plus the scale you see on faucets and in the water heater.

How does a softener differ from a whole-home filter?

A softener uses resin beads to trade calcium and magnesium for sodium or potassium, which prevents scale. A whole-home carbon filter takes out chlorine taste and smell and certain other compounds, but it does not soften. Some homes do well with both, installed in the correct order on the main line.

Can a new system connect to my old plumbing?

Most of the time, but we look first. We check for galvanized pipe, mixed metals joined without dielectric unions and worn shutoffs near where the system ties in. If anything needs work for the install to last, we show you before starting and include it in the price.

I have a softener. Is reverse osmosis still worth adding?

Each does a separate job. A softener treats hardness for the whole house, and an under-sink reverse osmosis unit forces water through a fine membrane to reduce dissolved solids in drinking and cooking water. Many people put one at the kitchen sink for better tasting water and ice.

Why does my tap water smell like a pool?

Nearly always, that is chlorine the utility adds so the water stays safe in the pipes. It does not mean the water is unsafe, though many people dislike the taste. A whole-home carbon filter takes out most of it at every faucet, and a reverse osmosis unit handles it at the kitchen sink.

How much does the water test cost?

Nothing at all. The test is free with zero obligation. We walk you through the results, and if you want a system, you get the installed price during the same conversation.

Is there a warranty on the system tanks?

Qualifying systems come with a lifetime warranty on their tanks. When we review your options, we point out which systems qualify.

How long is an install, and is the water off the whole time?

Most installs wrap up in a morning or an afternoon. The water is shut off only while the plumbers make the connections, and the bypass valve keeps water flowing to the house if the system ever needs service down the road.
